Write Your Advisory Log

Your advisory log is your private, per-period worklog for each client โ€” a structured record of your observations, the strengths and risks you see, the decisions you recommend, and the action items you're assigning. It's confidential within the advisory team (the client doesn't see your log directly), and it feeds the consolidated view your lead partner uses to coordinate the team. This guide covers how to fill it in. ๐Ÿ’ก Tip โ€” Who can use this For advisory partners. Open a client workspace, then go to the My Log tab. Quick reference | Step | Action | |------|--------| | 1 | Fill in your advisory log for the period | Step 1 โ€” Fill in your advisory log From a client's review workspace, open the My Log tab. You'll see a form for the selected period with several sections. The advisory log form with summary, observations, and action items Work through each section: - Domains Covered โ€” pick the advisory domains your log addresses this period (these default to your assigned scope). - Advisory Summary โ€” your overall narrative for the period. There's a word-count minimum, shown live as you type. - Strengths, Risks, and Opportunities โ€” three columns for your structured observations. - Decisions Made / Recommended โ€” the decisions you'd flag. - Action Items โ€” split into Client Actions (owned by the client) and Advisory Team Actions (owned by partners). Each has a description, owner, due date, and status. - Client Engagement / Sentiment โ€” a 1โ€“5 rating of how engaged the client is. Each text field has an AI Compose / AI Enhance button if you want Pulse AI to draft or polish your writing. ๐Ÿ“ Note โ€” Save Draft vs Submit Use Save Draft to keep your work and come back. Submit Log locks the log for the period โ€” after submitting it becomes read-only. Submit when your log is final; the lead partner's consolidated view pulls from submitted logs. ๐Ÿ’ก Tip โ€” You can attach files You can attach supporting files (spreadsheets, notes, screenshots) to your log. Attachments are stored securely and downloadable only within the advisory team โ€” the client can't access them directly. If you need the client to see a file, share it through the Documents workspace instead.

Set Domains Covered & Client Sentiment

In your advisory log, you record which domains you covered and rate the client's engagement. This guide covers those fields. ๐Ÿ’ก Tip โ€” Who can use this For advisory partners, in the My Log tab of a client workspace. Quick reference | Step | Action | |------|--------| | 1 | Pick domains covered and rate sentiment | Step 1 โ€” Set domains and sentiment In your advisory log: - Domains Covered โ€” pick the advisory domains your log addresses this period. These default to your assigned domain scope; adjust if you covered different areas. - Client Engagement / Sentiment โ€” rate the client's engagement on a 1โ€“5 scale based on your interaction this period. ๐Ÿ“ Note โ€” Sentiment feeds the client's engagement rating Your sentiment rating contributes to the Partner Engagement Rating the client sees on their dashboard. It's your honest assessment of how actively they're engaging. ๐Ÿ’ก Tip โ€” Be consistent and honest Rate sentiment based on observable engagement (submissions on time, session attendance, acting on recommendations), not personal feelings. Consistent, fair ratings give the client a meaningful signal.

Add Action Items (Client & Team) to Your Log

Your advisory log captures action items โ€” tasks for the client and for the advisory team. These feed the client's Flags & Actions page. This guide covers adding them. ๐Ÿ’ก Tip โ€” Who can use this For advisory partners, in the My Log tab. Quick reference | Step | Action | |------|--------| | 1 | Add client and advisory team action items | Step 1 โ€” Add action items In your advisory log, the Action Items section has two groups: - Client Actions โ€” tasks for the client. The owner dropdown lists client names. - Advisory Team Actions โ€” tasks for partners. The owner dropdown lists partner names. Each item has a description, owner, due date, and status (Open, In Progress, Done, Overdue). Add as many as needed. ๐Ÿ“ Note โ€” Client actions appear on the client's dashboard Action items you assign to the client show up on their Flags & Actions page, where they can acknowledge them. This is how your recommended actions reach the client directly. ๐Ÿ’ก Tip โ€” Keep action items specific and owned A clear description with a named owner and a realistic due date is far more likely to get done than a vague item. Make each action concrete and assignable.

Attach Files to Your Advisory Log

If the client needs to see a file, share it through the Documents workspace instead. ๐Ÿ’ก Tip โ€” Attach evidence for your analysis Attaching the data or analysis behind a key observation makes your log more credible and useful. When a partner or admin reviews your log later, the attachments show your work.

Save a Draft vs Submit Your Advisory Log

Your advisory log can be saved as a draft (editable) or submitted (locked). This guide covers the difference and when to use each. ๐Ÿ’ก Tip โ€” Who can use this For advisory partners, in the My Log tab. Quick reference | Action | Result | |--------|--------| | Save Draft | Stays editable; work in progress | | Submit Log | Locks the log; read-only afterward | Save Draft vs Submit Save Draft โ€” persists your log so you can return and continue. The log stays editable across sessions. Use this while you're still working. Submit Log โ€” finalizes and locks the log for the period. After submitting, the log becomes a read-only view. The lead partner's consolidated roll-up pulls from submitted logs. ๐Ÿ“ Note โ€” Submit when final Once submitted, you can't edit the log. Make sure it's complete and accurate before submitting. If you need to change something after submitting, contact your lead partner or admin. ๐Ÿ’ก Tip โ€” Submit on a regular cadence The lead partner's consolidated view is most useful when all partners have submitted their logs for the period. Submit yours promptly at your agreed cadence so the team can coordinate.

View the Consolidated Team Log (Lead Only)

As the lead partner, you have a Consolidated tab that rolls up every partner's advisory log for the period into one read-only view. A banner reminds you that individual partner notes are confidential within the advisory team. ๐Ÿ“ Note โ€” It's for coordination, not editing The consolidated view is read-only. You can't edit other partners' logs from here โ€” it's for seeing the full team's perspective in one place so you can coordinate the overall advisory narrative. ๐Ÿ’ก Tip โ€” Use it before publishing Before you publish the period's advisory commentary, review the consolidated log to make sure your published summary reflects the whole team's input, not just your own perspective. It's your best tool for coherent team-level advisory.
